"These are the hidden words that the living Jesus spoke, and that Didymos Judas Thomas wrote down. And he said, ‘Whoever finds the meaning of these words will not taste death.’"
Thus begins The Gospel According to Thomas, part of a collection of writings found in 1945 near Nag Hammadi, Egypt. This Gospel, rather than recounting the story of the life of Jesus, lists over one hundred of his sayings. Some of these are familiar to readers of the New Testament; others are not found in the Bible.
The author was divinely led to read this gospel and in so doing received the revelation of the meaning behind the “hidden words.” She feels that this gospel is very sacred because it contains the actual words that Jesus spoke, not having been altered since its discovery in 1945, and she always carried a copy of it with her.
With “boundless Light and Love,” Marie Watts offers us these spiritual insights and invites us to return to these sayings of Jesus again and again, that we might discover for ourselves the joy of revelation which they contain.
